1989 Honda Z50R that I just purchased. You can find out more about it here.

Service Manual

Symptoms

I have never heard this bike run, so I can’t comment on the symptoms. However, the lever stopper arm was bent and hitting the primary drive gear, making a grinding noise. Also, since the lever arm was not engaged with the star shaped plate, the bike had to been jumping out of gear and/or have shifting problems.

Diagnosis

I found the lever stopper arm cracked and bent. This caused interference between the arm and primary drive gear.

Some Parts Came In

Most of the parts came in and the rest should be here first week of January. I hope to have this bike up and running by the end of the month. Update: check out full engine rebuild/first fire up here.
