Hi do you have the KX250 2002 4stroke manual in PDF?

    • Matthew

Brian, I have the 04′ and 06′ manual for that model. Let me look around for an 02′.

  • andres

Awesome man! This really helped me out my bike didnt come with a manual! Now having one I feel much better working on it of making sure all of my parameters are correct !

    • Matthew

Andres, no problem! Do you own a 125 or 250? I have an 01′ 250 and have a bunch of how-to vids. Check them out!

  • Bob

I just aquired a 2003 kx250, looking for the rebuild procedure for the top end. basically want all the tollerances, and know the steps of how its “reccomended” to start the tear down, not just dive in and heres the tourqe specs. i was in a rush at a shop and accidently grabbed the 125 book (facepalm)

    • Matthew

I don’t have any 2 stroke top end videos at the moment. I’ll put one together for a 2001 KX250 when the time comes. In the meantime, download the service manual and read through the top end section. It might help clarify things.

  • JP

Thanks so much for making the Service Manual available to all.

    • Matthew

      No problem, JP!

Hi do you have service manual for 94-98 kx250 i have been looking and having no luck finding it

Hi man you can´t imagine how helpful your knowledge is for me because i am the owner of a kawasaki kx250 2001 and all your videos and the manuals was awesome!!! I am from Mexico and a few people here has the enough knowledge to fix a bike like this so i decided to do it by my own.
i´ve done the carburator cleaning and replaced the spark plug, the engine oil, air filter and the radiator water for antifreeze.
Happines was short because I was riding my bike when it turned off at no reason and though it was a bad carburation because i cleaned the carburator but when i tried to turn it on again i couldn´t because the crank shaft was ¨blocked!!! Couln´t move down even an inch.
Any idea what happened? I will appreciate!!

Sounds like the engine became seized. You need to tear down the top end at a minimum and see what the problem is. When you reassemble, make sure you pressure test the motor, verify jetting against stock, and check for vacuum leaks.

“Kawasaki KX125 KX250 Service Manual 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008” contains information about KX125M1 and KX125M2 only and not about farther stages. This is 4th edition. I think some data is not correct for M8. I’m right?

    • Matthew

It appears the file is mislabeled. What year is your bike?

      • SaT

        I’ve the KX125M8.

  • Nigel

    Thanks man help me heaps.

    • Matthew

No problem. Which do you own? I have an 01′ KX250

  • Divesh

Awesome … really helped me out 🙂

    • Matthew

      No problem!

  • bobriley000444 .

This is wrong. There is no 2006 KX250 models here. The manual even says it
was printed in 2004 so not possible because 2006 bike was not released
yet! I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me a link to
    2005-2007 KX250 2 Stroke models (KX250-R1, KX250T6F, KX250T7F) service manual. I
    have 2006 KX250T6F I can’t find a service manual anywhere 🙁

    • Bob, I received this manual with those years described. I also had a hard time determining the correct applicable years.

Search here for manuals that usually cost $5-10:

So, I am a woman and don’t have any experience working on engines, but am capable of learning just about anything. On the flip side, I am a single mother with not a lot of money to blow and my daughter’s bike won’t run. It is a 2003 Kx 125. It was laid over and ran afterward, but every time she kick started it, it got a little harder until finally now the kick start won’t go down at all. The last time it started, it took several kicks, where as before the wreck it started the first kick every time. The last time it started, it ran out of gas on her and it never would start again. The wreck didn’t have much surface evidence of major damage. The exhaust got dented and a the right foot peg got broken off and there was a new crack in the plastic. I never imagined it would be the death of the bike. Where do I start?

    • Hi there,

If the engine locked up at some point, it warrants a disassembly, there is no other way around that. I would start by pulling the pipe and taking a look into the exhaust port to look at the piston. Maybe even removing the cylinder head.

I have a 6hr long video that cover everything you need: https://www.howtomotorcyclerepair.com/kxenginerebuild/

I’ve had several people tackle their first engine rebuild using the video above. Doesn’t matter if you are male or female, you can do it!
